Yarns of Yesteryear
POST OFFICE

The first mail to Albany Creek was three services a week by Cobb and Co.

In 1867, the main postal run was via D’Aguilar to the Gympie Gold Fields.

From 1874 to 1918, the mail service was Wongan Creek (Arana Hills dump) via Albany Creek to the Dayboro Pub.

From 1926, locals took over the run that eventually became the Albany Creek Post Office, run by Mrs Alton from her front porch.

Noel Alton is a third generation family member residing here in Dolcoath Street. (You pass the previous Post Office almost every day).

For forthright advice from an agency that is part of the heart and soul of Albany Creek, to rent, buy or sell, phone Matt Campbell, a fourth generation local.
