NIMBY

Ex Brisbane Lord Mayor Jim Soorley drove home the point in a spirited Australia Day debate with me, by phone. I criticised him and obviously I hot a nerve.

NOT
IN
MY
BACK
YARD

It may be fine for Toowoomba, Singapore, California and others to mix … water- but not us.

Whilst it is upsetting, to see on TV, images of starvation, war, earthquakes and poverty (please pay me a glass of the $2 a bottle clearskin white) – if it’s now threatening, it’s liveable.

Next time you’re at Wantima Golf Club, ponder the lush greens courtesy of recycled water.

Reflect upon Bondi Beach, Surfers Paradise Beaches of today with effluent outflows and the fantastic alternative like ISRAEL, or South Australia when recycled water has created sustainable agriculture from reclaimed deserts.

Remember that the water at the farm was pumped from the creek with the normal mix of vegetation/ animal fluids with a few cane toads/ green frogs to finish off the met.

NIMBY

When we have no water to waste, would you then accept recycled water?
