Bus Travel – 2007
Bus arrangements at Albany Creek State School are as follows:
1. Cashmere Bus “CM2” (Thompson Bus Services) –
This services children in the Warner/Cashmere area. Normal bus fare rates apply
to chidren who use this service.
This Bus departs from the school at 3.05pm.
2. Clear Mountain Bus “CM4” (Thompson Bus Services) – Provided
for children who live in the Cashmere/Clear Mountain are. Normal bus fare rates
apply to children who use this service. This bus departs from the school at
3.05pm.
3. School Bus (Brisbane Bus Lines) – Provided for children who live in
the Eaton’s Hill/Draper area. Normal bus fare rates apply to children
who use this service. This bus departs from the school at 3.20pm.
4. Brisbane City Council – This services children from Brendale and leaves
from the bus stop in Wruck Crescent. Normal bus fare rates apply to children
who use this service. This bus departs from the school at approximately 3.15pm.
The Cashmere Bus, Clear Mountain Bus and School Bus 7 drop children off in front of the school in the morning and depart from the same place each afternoon. In the afternoon, children departing on these buses will assemble in the bar-be-que area behind the Hall.
Our school community expects excellent behaviour on the buses
and so that all children travelling to and from school by bus know the school
community’s expectation of them the following rules have been established
for this school:
1. No school bags, feet or knees on seats.
2. No hands, heads or feet to protrude from windows.
3. No litter to be thrown from or in the bus.
4. No yelling, swearing or excessive noise.
5. Students are to sit and behave in a respectful manner at all times while
on the bus.
6. Consumption of food or drink while on the bus by permission only, and then
only for declared medical reasons.
7. Students are required ti speak to and treat their driver with the same respect
as would be given to a teacher or Principal. Similarly the driver will display
respect for the students.
8. No student will be permitted to behave in a manner which could adversely
affect the safety of others travelling on the bus.
9. Payment as a result wilful damage will be the responsibility of the student,
parent or legal guardian.
In the case of a serious and/or persistent breached of these rules, the following
procedure will apply:
1. On the first occasion, the drivers should speak to the student.
2. On the second occasion, the student should be spoken to by the School Principal
and parents informed of the seriousness of the situation.
3. On the third occasion, the parents and the student should be invited to discuss
the behaviour with the Principal and a representative from the Bus Company.
Depending on the seriousness of the misconduct, a penalty could be imposed by
the Principal, or the Bus Company and may take action to suspend the student
from the service for a specified period.
